We are child-led in approach and work with parents and families to best meet each child’s individual needs. We take inspiration from a number of learning styles including Reggio, Hygge, Montessori and Charlotte Mason and we incorporate these into our nursery decor and approach to early years learning.
We are rated 'Good' by Ofsted, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. Click here to read our most recent Ofsted report.

Why Choose Fig Tree Day Nursery
We have a garden where we grow lovely fruits and vegetables. We encourage the children to help us plan and care for what we grow and we use what we grow to create nutritious meals for the children.
At Fig Tree Day Nursery we have a child-led approach to learning and play. We are very focused on the individual needs of every child and their key workers will follow their interests to engage their learning in a way they find fun.
NUTRITION AND PHYSICAL WELLBEING
Fig tree follows the Startwell programme and their 7 key messages where we encourage healthy eating and for the children to get regular exercise. We encourage the 7 key messages as young as baby room starting with tummy time and weaning babies. You can find more information and recipes on the Startwell website,
Our setting has a trained setting-based SENCO (special educational needs and disability coordinator) who coordinates and monitors the provision made for children with SEND (special educational needs and disabilities).
NATURAL AND SUSTAINABLE SETTING
We have been working toward having all-natural and sustainable furniture, equipment, resources and toys.
We have a lot of open-ended resources so children are able to be creative and free to use their imagination when playing.

Beckie G, Parent
If I could stop my son from growing up or getting older, he would have stayed with you forever. The work you and the team have put into this development has been 1st class. I wish we had found you earlier. You and the team have made the last 14-15 months so easiest, I have a happy, confident son because of it. Looking after someone's child is not just a business and its an ethos you and the team have totally captured. Leaving will be hard, I don't know how to Thank you.
Sarah N, Parent
Fig Tree Day Nursery successfully encompasses everything a nursery should be.
Kate and her team are incredibly warm and welcoming. They encourage open conversation which creates a very safe place for children and parents alike. Also makes us feel like we're not missing out on any of our child's development!
The range of activities are not only lots of fun, but teach essential life skills (baking has been particularly popular in our case!).
Most of all though, we love that our son has the opportunity to be in the same amazing environment from baby to preschooler!
